Eva Lewarne

Eva Lewarne is a painter, photographer and poet. She studied Fine Art at OCAD

(Ontario College of Art) and English at U of T (University of Toronto). Her work has been shown at the Salon Grand Palais in Paris, the Chapelle de la Sorbonne, Jadite Gallery In New York, Gallery Moos and Bezpala-Brown Gallery in Canada, among others. She is represented in public and private collections in Canada, the U.S. France, and Germany.  

She has been painting avidly for many years. In 1990’s she received a Gold Medal for Painting in France, presented by the Mayor of Paris then, Jacques Chirac and was featured as the Most Up and Coming Artist of the 90’s in Manhattan Arts as she exhibited in New York regularly.

Eva paints mainly women and their relationship to their world and themselves. She was born in Poland and came to Canada after completing high school.

Her theme throughout her long career has always been to portray mystery and mood. As Francis Bacon said, “The purpose of art is to portray mystery.”
