Randy Focazio was born in Florida in 1976,his passion for art began at a young age accompanying his mother to art studios where she would model for artists at local colleges. He would sit in a little side room playing with the paint given to him by the student artists as she sat for them. Self taught, his work coming intuitively to him he decided to eschew traditional training making his own rules to develop his own style of dark cerebral work. He often cites what he calls the collective unconsciousness of the everglades as his primary source of artistic power, especially in his formative years believing it an energy source on a metaphysical level that he tapped into as he grew up with it in his backyard. His work is often related to what he says lies beneath the naked eye and can only be seen with a 6th sense.
After moving to Los Angeles he briefly attended Art Center School of Design in Pasadena where he studied art, film and acting. His work has since then appeared some small gallery shows as well as write ups in PAPER and LEFT BANK Magazine. He has also had some ready made art pieces shown in conjunction with the MOCA Under the Big Black Sun : California art 1947-1981 show in 2011.
Currently he is in talks to be represented by the ART Gallery SALOTTO DADAISTA in Italy on the island of Ischia.
